Update: Although everything was planned to make the MedTech Meetup a success, the organisation needs to take responsible measures against the Covid-19 epidemic. Therefore we are in the regret to announce that the decision has been made to postpone the event to a further date, still in 2020. Keep an eye out on our website and social media channels for further announcements.
Are you injecting all available funding?
Let’s find out together!
Ayming Belgium is proud to take an active part in the 4th edition of MedTech Meetup, a unique event centered on the Belgian industry of medical devices, which will take place on Thursday 19 March 2020 from 9 am till 6 pm.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to meet up with the field’s finest, and meet Ayming’s consultants who will shed some light on the financing opportunities at hand, so your most ambitious and innovative projects stand a better chance of becoming a reality.
Make sure you don’t miss us!
Ayming will be present throughout the event, namely hosting a workshop entitled “How to leverage government incentives to bridge the Valley of Death”, as well as sharing knowledge in the expertise corner of the exhibit.
The workshop will be hosted by Stefaan Heyvaerts, Innovation Performance Manager at Ayming, and will tackle how MedTech companies (especially SMEs) face the risk of seeing projects plummet to their untimely passing in the abyss known as the Valley of Death. This threat is still very real and considerably higher than what we can observe in other industries. There exist numerous and diverse opportunities for funding (grants, tax credits, matching funds…) at regional, federal, and EU level yet few companies (if any) know how to leverage and combine those government incentives which their projects are eligible for. In this workshop, Stefaan Heyvaert will present an overview of the different government incentives and their pre-requisites, as well as discuss some of the best practices and pitfalls associated with each one.
The expertise corner will be the place to be to get practical advice from our consultants on topics related to innovation financing, such as:
- R&D Funding
- Wage withholding tax partial exemption for researchers
- Deduction for R&D investments
- Innovation Income Deduction (IID)
- Grants & subsidies – European (EIC Accelerator, Horizon Europe, H2020, Eurostars, Fast Track to Innovation)
- Grants & subsidies – Belgian (regional: DG06, VLAIO, Innoviris)
About clinical research in Belgium
Belgium has a long history of excellent clinical research addressing a wide range of therapeutic domains thanks to a unique health ecosystem, the quality of the clinical centres and the real-life expertise of investigators.
Clinical research also refers to a multistakeholder landscape in which tracing its path can be a challenging task, in particular for SMEs willing to bring their health innovations ultimately to the patients. Areas of concern are effective implementation and conduct of clinical trials, as well as the timely recruitment of patients next to the structural funding of clinical research in hospitals.
